Second
generation Russian-born circus performer Heluba Kim grew-up
performing in her family's most unusual equestrian act—pareback
riding bears. But when her Korean performing partner and
husband passed away a few years ago, she was forced to
part with her beloved inherited trained bears for an act
she believed might prove slightly more manageable—her
two teenage sons. "Now," she smiles, "I'm
not so certain." Her sons Vladimir, age 17 and Victor,
age 12, now do their Mother proud with a highly acclaimed
one-of-a-kind horseback juggling act, atop seasoned show
business steeds whose exact breed Heluba refers to as
"gypsy,"—having originally been purchased
by a band of actual gypsies in the Ural mountains many
years ago.
